Lunch, Parties, Dinner, Games, and New Traditions...

This weekend and last weekend have been quite the adventures!! It all started two weekends ago when I had lunch with my amazing friend Cortnee! Not only is she cool because of her name but well I just love her! I wrote about her on my other blog a while ago but for those who don't know her, we met in college when we became roomies and we have had so many great memories!! The best memory would probably be when we got snuggies! Recently Cort decided to join the married club and will be getting married at the end of the month!!! Since I have been a member of the married club for a whole eight months now, we decided we should have lunch and I could talk to her about the excitement of marriage and helpful hints..if you know what I mean! Cort and I had a class together in college and we were pretty much connected at the hip so this would be the pic that we used to always take...unfortunately I am a little taller than her so our hips don't exactly connect but close enough :).... Later that day we celebrated Emma's birthday and went to dinner..we even brought our good friend Nic along... Every so often the Newly Married couples in our ward get together and have a little party!!! It is always super fun, I love that we actually know people now! Yay! You finally get to meet Kylea (pictured left)! She is my other really really good friend in the ward! Then hopefully you remember Heidi (right) from our previous camping post! All I have to say about these girls is that they are the best! I have always wanted cute girl friends when I got married and guess what...I found some! I always have so much with them and I look forward to see what else we will do! This weekend we all decided to go to dinner at a restaurant that a guy in our ward owns! The dinner conversation was great! Oh and no we did not plan on coordinating our outfits so well! After dinner the Jensen's invited us to their place to play games! Oh and the guy next to Kylea is her hubbie Eric! Kylea was not cold...the warm hat was part of the game Quelf! If you haven't played it I suggest that you play it! It is hard to explain the game without actually playing it but Trevor had to create a snorkel and use it the whole game... Ryan had just slapped himself while he was acting out his card...no worries it was all apart of the game... Next round I had to keep my thumbs in my mouth and Heidi had to pretend Ryan was her dummie... Trevor then had to put the game box up his shirt and sing while he still had the snorkel...The more I think of it...Kylea and Eric really never had to do anything embarrassing but the rest of us did...I think they planned it haha Now it is time to announce our new tradition... Trevor and I decided that we really loved camping and we want to do it again but the only problem was that we really didn't have our own stuff but guess what...now we do!!! We bought a tent and a blow up mattress! We couldn't just let it sit in a box though, we decided to set it up in our TV room and start a tradition! Our tradition is called Camping for Conference!!! This conference we slept in our tent and woke up and watched conference in our tent and had a blast! From now on we will always do it and I am so excited! We will even do it with our kids and I hope they will love it as much as we do! Our tent is sweet! We love it and I think it is even kind of cute with the orange! This is it with the rain cover on... And this is it without the cover so we could look at the stars or I guess I should say the ceiling... Here is Trevor exploring the tent...Now we can't wait to actually go camping in it!!! Oh and I just thought I might add...Conference was so good!!!! Our church leaders are amazing and I am already looking forward to October!

And a little bit of chicken fried, cold Ginger Beer on a Friday night...

This post has one purpose.... To prove that we actually have friends and we didn't just make them up so enjoy meeting the Bartons and Nic!

Last Friday Trevor and I went camping with our BFFs The Bartons and Nic! Usually my camping consists of trailers, grass, somewhere to shower, and somewhere to go to the bathroom but this time it was tents, dirt, no running water, and bushes. It was so much fun though!!!! We started off by squeezing everything into the back of the Jeep and then we were on our way! We made a stop at a lovely gas station to feel up on a gas and get a snack and then we were on the road again. We eventually found a wonderful camping spot and we began to set up camp. The boys then worked on getting the fire started so we could cook our tin foil dinners provided by Heidi! They were delicious thank you thank you Heidi for making those! For drinks we had really gross ginger beer, trust me don't try it. Of course we had to roast mallows after dinner because that is what camping is all about!! We all have a slight addiction to Phase 10 so we decided to go into our tent and play until about midnight and after we had enough of our loud neighbors that made us want to shoot Ryan's gun. At midnight we decided we should go to bed not knowing what was ahead of us.....after sleeping for about a hour the wind turned on...no not just a slight breeze, it was a strong wind! Our tents were going crazy and almost going to blow away! Nic's tent pretty much collapsed on him which Trevs got a huge kick out of! We tossed and turned all night until we finally just decided to wake up. Once every one was up and started eating breakfast our tent decided to take off so we had to hurry and grab it and just take it down. After cleaning up camp we headed to Goblin Valley and walked around there! It was really cool and we had a lot of fun there! Before we knew it we were on our way home and I napped for most of the drive but I was awake when a cop pulled us over and gave Trevor a ticket...don't get me started on the cop, he was a real jerk! We arrived home safely and I can't speak for everyone but I had a blast!!!!

Meet Ryan, Heidi, and Nic
As you can tell I was really excited for the trip...
Trevs got tired so decided to take a quick nap...yes the car was still moving
We might have had the tent with a vaulted ceiling but the Bartons had a blow up mattress...
Luckily they went to scout camp...
Chilling by the fire...
All of us...
Ryan really liked the ginger beer...he might have liked it a little too much
Our amazing dinner...Heidi even made a special one for me since I am so picky
Yes that is a gun, we thought it really added to the picture...
Jada should have been in a commercial she looked so cool camping...
Our tent blowing away...
Nic's tent blowing away...
Nic relaxing...
Trevs and Nic showing off their skills...
The Barton's engagement picture...
The wind started blowing so we had to put Trevs between the rocks so he didn't blow away...
Pick -a- boo...
This is for real..Ryan was jumping and I was snapping...

Yoga is always good to do...no matter where you are...
They used to be models...
Trevs jumping the rocks...
The circle of friendship...Family photo...

Now these are more of "you had to have of been there" but you can read them anyway if you want...
"I felt like such a retard"
"Missing someone?" and all of Ryan's gun stories for the neighbors
"Do you guys do baby talk?"
"I had to pee so bad but I was scared to get out of my tent because I thought it would blow away"
Random animal noises...
"Should we blame the co-pilot?"
"We better not meet like this again"
"You spit on your tent"
Chicken Fried on repeat
"I just stacked rocks after I went to the bathroom"
Aldey's
"I bet they just make the sandwiches here"
"If you are not looking at the card game, then what are you looking at?"
"Elmo loves you"
"This will be the deciding factor if we can be best friends"
The Other Guys quotes
And so many more!!!

Thanks guys for an amazing adventure!!!

Update needed...

Wow who knew married life would be so busy that I would never have enough time to blog...ok so I knew it would probably be like this way but now that I have some time I better give a few updates! Well the year ended off a little rough with my grandma's battle of cancer coming to an end. To be honest I knew that it would be hard having her gone but seriously, it is really hard. I miss her a lot and wish she would still be around for all of the family parties and just when I want to go give her a hug and make a joke. The Utah Vs. BYU game was really hard to listen to (we were in the car) I never thought that I would cry at a football game but I did as BYU was about to win...and then when Utah ended up pulling together I started to chuckle because I could just see my grandma yelling at the tv. It has been sad and hard not having her around but I know she is in a better place and that I will one day be with her again.

Some good things did happen as we wrapped up the year though...we were able to take a train to the North Pole where I was able to tell the man who held the microphone up to my mouth "Don't make me sing"..then when he came around again I got to sing really high and have him think I was crazy! After Santa Clause (not just any Santa but the REAL one) we went to Midway and stayed the night. It was a blast! Thanks Santa and family oh and Grandma Wortley!

Like other years in the past I have struggled with New Years Eve because I would never get my kiss, the only thing that kept me going was trying to be happy because it was Bryon Russell's birthday.....BUT last year really turned my New Years experience around because it was last year that I made contact with my future husband at the time so this New Years we celebrated with Trev's family and my parents! We played Kinect for most the night and tape ball..it was so much fun! My mother being the cute woman that she is finds joy in mine and Trevor's relationship so she made homemade oreos which were the cookies that we had the first day we met and at our reception! They were delicious!!

Now the months are flying and we are already in March! Trevor and I are trying to manage our time wisely and do all that we need to do! We have started to make friends around where we live and are having a lot of fun! I am still trying to work on my cooking and well you might just have to ask Trevor how that is going :/ haha! We have found a new tv show that we love to watch....MODERN FAMILY! It is hilarious and is one of the many things that we look forward to each and every week!

Now here are some pics to maybe help this post be a little more entertaining...

This is how I like to remember my gma..happy and this pic is also for my mom..she loves it and I love it too because my mom looks gorgeous!
Trevor trained a dragon a little bit ago and I am so proud of him...
This pic is from Thanksgiving...it was forever ago but seemed like yesterday
I went dark for a bit...no worries I won't do that again
I really love specialty drinks..virgin ones
This is when we went to the North Pole...the hot chocolate was delicious
For Valentine's day I said that I didn't want flowers so this is what I got to come home to.. Trevs decided to make me burberry flowers..my favorite
He also surprised me with these sweet shoes because I have been trying to work out more...they are awesome and make me feel like I am working out bare foot
Just a fun pic to prove I am blonde again...
Last weekend we had Mason over for a sleep over...I had a blast with him but I think Trevs had a little more fun...
